Black lips- 200 Million Thousand (2009)

Black lips is one of the strangest and most passionate bands I’ve heard this year for sure. When I first heard them, I was thinking- damn, what a strange and catchy rock and roll! But it was more than that. They sound like a fusion of these days indie rock and 50s rock n’ roll or 60s garage rock. Imagine the surf- rock band engaged with the hardcore punk revolutionary soul and seasoned with tasty interpretation of today’s rock waves. Some songs are pretty simple and minimal, but sneaky concentrated with the psychedelic noisy guitars and hoarse vocals. They are original in every step while it seems you heard the melody before it still sounds so innovative and so curiously. If you’re an old rock n’ roll fan that can’t find anything gripping lately then try BLACK LIPS! This experimental rock album is definitely worth to be experimented!
